I bought 2 of these, one for me and one for the wife. I got them mostly for the height, as I just recently bought 2 chairs that were taller than our previous desks and wouldn't fit underneath. Instead of ruining the leather armrests on a pair of $400 chairs, taller desks were in order.

As I said in the title, you don't put this together, you build it. Unlike other cheap quality put-together cam-and-stud pieces of furniture that I usually find on Amazon, this desk has actual screws and bolts you build it with. I'll be looking for more of this type of furniture from this vendor in the future.

The metal is sturdy aluminum, and the wood is 1/2" plywood covered with a high-quality laminate. The box is a little on the heavy side, so unless you're fairly strong, I recommend having a second pair of hands to help you carry it. The box was packed well, using lots of Styrofoam and plastic corner protectors for the wood tops. Nothing was damaged or scratched in either box. Although it's not heavy to push around when complete, the desk is a little on the large size, so I recommend building it in the place where you're going to be using it to make it easier.

The diagrams in the book are easy to read, and everything is clearly labeled. From start to finish using a ratchet screwdriver with exchangeable bits (the package comes with a screwdriver, allen tool, and small wrench). Each desk took me about an hour to build by myself. It is versatile and can be assembled as a long desk, or an L-shape left or right. I put a mirror image of my wife's desk (on the left) to show you what our office area looks like with both desks in place.

I have a curved widescreen monitor with a large stand. Because of the size of the stand (which is designed to fit in a corner), it takes up half of the 20" depth of the top. As I rent, I'm not allowed to mount things to the walls so I ordered a monitor arm to get it closer to the wall. So keep this in mind for all you widescreen users out there.

I have a full-size computer tower sitting on top as it won't fit underneath. The computer shelf has enough space to accommodate a PC that is 9 3/4" wide, 18 3/4" tall, and 17 1/2" deep. Technically, you can go deeper, but you'll need to pull the desk away from the wall or have the front of the PC sticking out a little for anything longer. My external Blu-Ray drive sits on the little shelf above the PC shelf. I could easily stack 2 of them in this little space, and since my PC tower sits above it, running cables wasn't a problem.

I like the cubby shelf. I even put a mini-shelf on top that I had on my desk before to keep all my figurines, snacks, and misc stuff. The cubbies are a decent size, 14" wide, 6 1/2" tall, and 7 3/4" inches deep. Then you have all the space on top to utilize. This feature is very appreciated. I opted to not add the pull-out keyboard shelf, as I prefer to have my keyboard on top of the desk.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this desk. It was very well-designed, and easy to put together. I'll give an update to let you know how it works out having a monitor arm attached.

Update: I installed the monitor arm and it's been holding up very well. The monitor arm I picked up allows me to mash the screen as close to the wall as possible. As you can see from the pictures, the back of the monitor sits about 4" away from the wall. I went from having 10" of desk space to 16" of desk space (I had to move the desk 2" away from the wall to get it to sit flat).

The monitor arm I'm using is the ErGear Ultrawide Monitor Arm. It holds up to 26 lbs. (monitor is only 12 lbs with the stand removed), so it's plenty strong for my monitor. It secures well, holds the monitor in place, and the desk is holding it up without issues. Just for giggles, I thought I would show the little shelf I put on the top shelf of the desk. If you have enough ceiling height, you could stack quite a few things up there. I'm 6' tall, and the shelf tops out a couple inches taller than me. Anything taller would be too much for me. When I got the desk, one of the desk table tops had been damaged in shipment. The packages aren't protected in the best way (flimsy cardboard and thin styrofoam) and since it's coming from China, it's bound to be subjected to all kinds of throwing and dropping. I reached out to customer service and they promptly sent me a new part at no additional cost. They were very kind and very pleasant to work with.

I got the new desk top in about a week after the old one arrived. The desk took about 4.5 hours for me to build. Sturdy and strong. The instructions could do a better job of labeling and showing the orientation of a few parts, but if you just take your time and pay attention, it's no big deal. The instructions do say to wait until the end before you tighten the screws and they are absolutely right. I would modify that by saying wait until the end of the section you're working on to tighten the screws. And if you hear a sound like metal scraping on wood, STOP.

I saw comments talking about the cord for the strip lights being very short. It is a little short but it's meant to be plugged into the strip cord that is built into the desktop. I was lucky in where I placed this in my house that I have two outlets that are situated either side of the L shaped desk so I have plenty of cord space. I would suggest planning your desk build around where your outlets are.

I love the pegboard and the extra fold out bags that go with it. The shelves on the hutch are the perfect size for Funko Pop boxes which made me very happy. The desk tops are tall and roomy which I appreciate as I often struggle with hitting the tops of my legs on the bottom of desks. I opted not to install the keyboard slide as it probably would have hung down a little low for my liking. The desk is huge and has space for my two monitors, my XL laptop, my tab, and my drawing tablet all sitting out together, plus a small HP printer and it still doesn't look crowded. The PC stand was the perfect fit for mine, although with the shelf above it, I'm not able to use my top loading USB ports and audio jacks. Not a big deal for me as my PC has plenty more ports in the back, but something to consider if your PC has those.

Overall, an amazing desk and I'm very happy with it. If you have to contact customer service, they are amazing as well. Very helpful and very patient. 100% would recommend and would buy again.

We recently updated our basement "office" space and I had been searching for a reasonably priced corner desk. When I found the SEDETA L Shaped Computer Desk I knew it was meant to be as the dimensions worked PERFECTLY. I did read some of the negative reviews and hesitated since it isn't sold directly by Amz (so I worried about a potential/costly return) but that all turned out to be unnecessary. The box arrived faster than anticipated, had no shipping damage, and inside everything was packaged securely and with lots of protective material.

I found assembly to be pretty easy. Each piece was labeled, as was the hardware, and the instructions were pretty clear. The first few steps are "universal" and then the second half of the instructions include the various options for assembly (left facing, right facing or which side you want the hutch). All said and done... it took about 2.5 hours to fully build (and that was while doing other things around the house, and by myself) and I didn't run into any unexpected issues.

The quality is what you would expect for this price point... the wood surface itself is a bit thin, but it looks very nice in person and I love the "industrial" look mixing wood and metal. I was also really impressed with the "extras" which are part of this desk - the hutch, pegboard, integrated power and LED light strip are all functional and give it a more "premium" feel. There is also a nice felt storage pouch which attaches to the side and another felt storage bin which can be attached to the pegboard. The only thing I wish is that the computer tower area was a wider shelf instead (there are other SEDETA desk options with drawers/shelves but the desk size isn't the same and we wanted these exact dimensions). If we could have mixed the various options together this would have been perfect!

One other thing I'll mention is that we also purchased the SEDETA 44" File Cabinet (also in "Rustic Brown). It isn't an exact color match (a little more of a lighter brown with less of the black grain/streaks) but it's "close enough" to be across the room and not stand out. I've included a photo of that here as well just for reference. I will have more photos on that product/review page for anyone interested, as that was one of the things I looked for when purchasing and considered going in all white since they were likely to be an exact color match.

Overall I would recommend this desk - just make sure there's no exterior damage to the box when it arrives from shipping and the inside is well packaged and everything should be good. Enjoy!
