Wood species

Douglas-fir is a soft wood and has a straight, yet pronounced, two-tone grain with an overall reddish/brown tint. Alder is a fine grained hard wood similar to cherry, birch and maple. It is more resistant to scratches, dents, mold, mildew, and insects than fir and takes stain smoothly versus fir's more grainy, rustic look.

Optional premium hand-distressed-shabby-chic finish

Our hand-distressed-shabby-chic finish is labor intensive and includes the application of a dark premium gel stain to the furniture followed up by several layers of chalk or milk paint that are then hand distressed and finally protected by several layers of clear coat.

We offer seamless tops (sans crumb gaps) as standard. If you would like a planked-top look, please let us know in the comments during checkout.
The rough-hewn top planks are carefully hand-selected, planed, and smoothed with 80, 120, and 220 grit sandpaper.
Our lumber is pre-conditioned and the color(s) of your choice is carefully and meticulously applied.
Three layers of water-and-scratch-resistant clear-coat is then applied; you choose the sheen: satin, semi-gloss, or gloss!
